Find your GTIN errors before a retailer does.

GTIN Validator Kit: $149, one payment

The kit checks every GTIN in your product file against GS1 rules and six retailer checklists. It shows each problem row by row, with the fix, and gives you a corrected file. It runs in your web browser on your own computer, so your product data never leaves it.

What you get

  • Every issue, row by row, with the fix: check digits, lengths, duplicates, company prefixes, and case-to-unit relationships.
  • A corrected GTIN file to paste back into your product master or retailer portal.
  • Checklists for Walmart, Costco, UNFI, Whole Foods, KeHE, and 1WorldSync, listing the GTINs that fail each one.
  • A readiness score and a PDF report for your team or broker.
  • A cost-of-inaction estimate, with assumptions you can edit to match your retailers.

How it works

  1. Buy the kit. Payhip emails you a download link right away.
  2. Save GTIN-Validator-Kit.html anywhere on your computer and double-click it. It opens in your web browser.
  3. Choose your CSV or Excel file, or paste your GTINs. The kit finds your GTIN column; change it if it picked the wrong one.
  4. Read the results on screen, then download the CSV report, the corrected GTINs, and the PDF.

No account, no install, and no internet connection needed once it’s downloaded.

What it checks, and what it doesn’t

It checks format and structure: whether each GTIN is a valid GS1 number, whether it’s duplicated, whether your company prefixes and case-to-unit relationships are consistent, and whether it meets each retailer’s GTIN rules.

It doesn’t look your GTINs up in GS1’s registry or a retailer’s database, so it can’t tell you whether a GTIN is assigned to the right product. It checks your data before you submit it.

GTIN Validator Kit

  • Every issue in your file, row by row.
  • Corrected GTINs, a CSV report, and a PDF report.
  • Runs on your computer. Your file never leaves it.

What you need

  • A computer with a current version of Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. Version 1.0 is tested in all three on Windows. It isn’t tested on a Mac or in Safari yet.
  • A CSV or Excel (.xlsx) file up to 10 MB and 10,000 GTINs, with column headers in the first row. Save older .xls files as .xlsx or CSV first.

License, in plain language

  • One purchase covers one business: your own company, on as many of your company’s computers as you need, for as long as you like.
  • If you run it for client brands as a broker, agency, or consultant, each client needs its own kit. Email me about a multi-client price.
  • Please don’t resell the kit or post it for public download.
  • The kit is provided as is. It checks the format and structure of your data. It doesn’t guarantee that a retailer will accept your items.

Updates and support

Updates to version 1 are free. When I release one, I’ll email you, and the download link in your Payhip receipt gets you the new file.

Your version number is at the bottom of the kit’s screen and on every page of the PDF.

Questions, or a file that won’t load: email shawn@lailarallc.com. I reply within two business days.

Refunds

If the kit won’t run on your computer or can’t read your file, email me within 14 days of purchase and I’ll refund you in full.
